General Assembly

     The supreme governing body of the Academy is the General Assembly of all Academy members. The General Assembly meets not less than two times every year.

     The General Assembly addresses following issues:
            - The development of science and technology policy, results of research projects and elaboration of advisee for the Government on topics related to science and technology.
           - Assessment and evaluation of economic and social development of Mongolia and development of recommendations to the Parliament, the Cabinet of Ministers.
           - Election of the Academy members. - Election the Academy President, Vice-President, Presidium members and General Scientific Secretary for a term of four years.

The President of the Academy acts as the science and technology adviser of the Prime Minister.

Subassemblies

     The activities and goals of the Subassemblies of MAS aim to develop cooperation between scientific organizations, to participate broadly in aiding scientists to determine leading methodologies and to implement policy on science and technology. Under the MAS there are following scientific divisions or Subassemblies:
             - Social sciences
             - Engineering sciences
             - Geology and Geography
             - Biological and Agricultural sciences
             - Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry  
             - Academy of Medical science
